Description
Reliable, Efficient Flow for Ponds, Waterfalls and Water Walls
The Luponds 13,000 LPH Energy Efficient Submersible Pond Pump is built for Australian pond owners who need dependable circulation without a high running cost. Moving up to 13,000 litres of water per hour with a maximum head height of 5 metres, it has the flow and lift to power a biological filter, waterfall, water blade spillway or fountain — while its asynchronous motor and vortex impeller design keep power draw down to just 130W.
Every Luponds pump is IPX8-rated for full submersion, fitted with a wear-resistant ceramic shaft, and backed by a genuine Australian warranty. It's supplied with a full set of hose tail adaptors (38mm, 32mm, 25mm and 19mm) so it connects straight onto your existing pond, filter or water wall plumbing without a trip to the hardware store.
Key Features
| • | 13,000 LPH maximum flow with 5.0m maximum head — suits medium to large ponds, waterfalls and water walls |
| • | Only 130W power consumption — a high-performance, energy-efficient asynchronous motor |
| • | Vortex impeller with wear-proof ceramic shaft for long service life |
| • | IPX8 rated — fully submersible, suitable for both fresh water and marine ponds |
| • | Also suitable for non-submersible (dry) installation with gravity feed |
| • | Built-in thermal overload protection — automatically trips if the motor overheats |
| • | 10m power cable for flexible placement away from the pond edge |
| • | Compatible with our WiFi Variable Speed Pump Controller for app control, scheduling and further energy savings |
| • | Supplied with hose tail adaptors in 38mm, 32mm, 25mm and 19mm sizes, O-ring and threaded coupling |
Where It's Used
The 13,000 LPH model is a popular mid-range choice for established ponds, pond filtration systems, garden waterfalls, water blade spillways and smaller water wall installations. If you're building a larger feature or running a bigger filter and need more flow or lift, the higher-output Luponds 30,000 LPH Pump may be a better fit — see our Pond Pump Buying Guide for help sizing correctly by flow rate and head height.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size pond or feature is the 13,000 LPH pump suitable for?
With 13,000 litres per hour of flow and a 5.0m maximum head, this pump suits small to medium ponds, garden waterfalls, water blade spillways and smaller water wall installations. If you're running a larger filter or a bigger feature, the higher-output Luponds 30,000 LPH pump may be a better match — check our Pond Pump Buying Guide to size correctly.
Can this pump be installed out of the water?
Yes. It's suitable for both submersible and non-submersible (dry) installation. For dry installation, the pump must sit lower than the water surface so water reaches it by gravity feed, as it is not self-priming. Note the warranty is 2 years for submerged installation but only 1 year for dry installation.
Does it work with a WiFi speed controller for scheduling and energy savings?
Yes. This is an asynchronous (fixed-speed) pump, which makes it compatible with our 1200W WiFi Variable Speed Pump Controller, letting you dial flow down to 10% and schedule reduced running overnight or in cooler months for further energy savings.
Is it safe to use in a saltwater or marine pond?
Yes, the pump is suitable for both fresh water and marine garden ponds. It is not suitable for swimming pools, chlorinated water, or use with chemicals or solvents.
What's covered under warranty?
The pump carries a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects and motor failure when installed submerged, 1 year when installed dry, and 1 year on the impeller. The impeller set and O-ring are exhaustible items and are not covered. Running the pump dry, using it with chemicals, or cutting the power cable will void the warranty.
How often does the pump need cleaning?
Luponds recommends cleaning the impeller and impeller chamber at least once a month to maintain strong flow. Restricted flow from a dirty impeller can cause overheating and permanent motor damage, which is not covered under warranty.
